Sequences from past years

2023 - Halloween

Here's a short clip of our display on Halloween night

2022
For over 40 years, at the beginning of December, the town of Sechelt, BC, has held a celebration to turn on the Christmas lights along the streets. A mainstay of this event is a singalong of the song Light the Lights, which the Dickson's wrote and recorded in the 1990s. I first heard the song in 2018 and thought it would be an excellent fit for our light show. I mentioned this to Lynne and Reg when I saw them at a concert, and they graciously agreed to lend the master CD from which I created this sequence.

Here's an article about Lynne and Reg's nearly three-decade involvement with the Light the Lights event. This is an abridged version of the song. Hear the full version here.

The most appreciated addition was the 12-point stars hanging from the cedar tree. That, and the Christmas Robot 🙂

2021 - Pixel poles and a 16x33 mega tree on the boulevard. The sequencing was the highlight, as can be seen in Felix Navidad below.

This video juxtaposes the views from the Xlights sequencer with the live view from the show.

2020 - The first Covid Christmas. This song helped us all get through that lonely time without friends nearby.

2019 - A big year of additions: big arches, pixel poles, and snowflakes on the roof. The 8x8x8 cube, 256x160 matrix, and fence lights came to life.

2018 - A modest beginning at our new house in Halfmoon Bay. This is one of my favourite sequences.

2017 Yet another matrix, this time on the house. And spiral trees. Sadly, this was the last year for the driveway arches as they did not work at the new house.

2016 - The driveway tunnel makes its first appearance! Plus, 3 infinity mirrors on the house.

2015 - The year of matrices! A 96x64 main screen, a 10x22 chimney matrix, a 24x25 ground matrix, and three 8x24 towers. Plus, pixels on the soffits and deck.

2014 - The addition of Starbursts was a great addition. The sequencing also got much better.

2013 - The madness begins! A 24x120 pixel-based megatree, star, and arches make their debut. None of the neighbours had ever seen anything like it.

2012 - The first shows! Only 16 channels of store-bought LEDs. The props took a long time to build and the songs forever to sequence!
